Craft supplies are pretty much my favorite things in the whole world! They seriously make me giddy!!! I wear I hear angels sing every time I walk into Hobby Lobby! I’m not the only one, am I? I thought it would be fun to share with you my top 10 maker necessities! Y’all ready? Let’s go!
My Silhouette Cameo may be my favorite thing in the entire world Ok, that may be a but dramatic but if my house was on fire I would grab it! I purchased my Silhouette 7 years ago and it was love as first cut! The gifts I have made for others and for my own kiddos has made it totally worth the price but the fact that  I have been able to use it start my own business makes it even better. It fostered a creativity in me I didn’t know I had!
Now you would think I would use a Silhouette mat to cut my glitter heat transfer vinyl (um, glitter. It doesn’t get better than that. Can I get an amen?) but I actually prefer a Cricut mat. It just seems sturdier to me.
Now that I have cut my sparkly HTV I need my heat press to finish the adorable shirt I am making for my Madelyn. I have not 1 complaint about this heat press and the price point is perfect. If you are looking for one to start your on biz or just to make shirts for your family and friends well this is it!
If you follow me on Facebook you know I LOVE sign making. I have used my silhouette to start my own creative business buy cutting stencil vinyl and creating wooden signs. There are 3 essentials when making a sign. The first is the American Heirloom sponge. One use and you will wonder where it has been your whole life. I promise. It’s amazing. The second is paint brushes. Now, don’t get me wrong I love a Walmart paint brush but when you use a quality paint brush it changes everything about your painting. Don’t believe me? Try it! My most favorite part of sign making is when I get to whip out my Ryobi brad nailer. I never knew I would be a power tool girl! This thing is awesome and if I can use it anyone can!
Now that we have totally covered my love of the Silhouette Cameo there are 3 other things I love (there are actually probably 100 other things I love but I don’t want to keep you here for days). I am sure you have seen the hand lettering craze. I could watch these women write for hours. There is something so beautiful and calming about it! Don’t know what I am talking about? Head over to Instagram and search hand lettering. I have purchased several books but Hand Lettering 101 is by far is my favorite. I have one favorite font that I have really been working on. When I first started I bought some expensive pens but soon learned that a plain old Sharpie was the easiest. And who doesn’t love a Sharpie?
Lastly, a cordless hot glue gun. Girls, a hot glue will change your life. School project, check. Broken vase, check. Hem your pants or curtains, check (I am totally serious). My love for a hot glue gun is deep.
So here is my top 10! Now I feel like being crafty!!!!
xoxo,
Jessica
