Don’t you just love surprises? I do and I love surprising others! My kiddos and I brainstormed who we can bless for Valentine’s Day. I knew I wanted it to be a mama of littles because I remember how chaotic that season can be. I wanted to provide all the tools so they could make a memory together because lets face it, when you have little ones it isn’t easy to always have things planned. When mine were little I felt lucky to get a shower!

We decided on a cookie decorating kit which is extra fun during Valentine’s Day because of all of the sprinkle options! Who doesn’t love sprinkles?

We purchased everything at Walmart. I grabbed a cute dish towel, cookie cutters, sugar cookie mix, sprinkles, icing bottles, and some paper shred. I put everything in this adorable popcorn bucket and added a cute tag that you can download here!

I did decide to make some royal icing to fill the bottles with. If royal icing isn’t your thing you can buy pre-made icing and that is just as fun. Here is my recipe for royal icing:

1 cup confectioners sugar

2t corn syrup

2t milk

1/4 t vanilla extract

food coloring of your choice.

I add all the ingredients to my mixer and mix on low until it is nice and smooth. It is important it is the right consistency. If it is to thick I add milk until it is the desired consistency. I then separate the icing into separate bowls and add the food coloring. Once it is mixed and ready to go I either fill decorator bottles or ziplock bags and start decorating.

Now comes the best part!! Leaving it on their door step and praying they create lots of sweet and messy memories. Those are the best kind!

Be blessed friends,

Jessica
